Built on Real Experience, Not Hype

We started arivylent in 2019 because we noticed something odd. Most financial reporting services were either too technical for real people or too simplified to be useful. Somewhere between spreadsheet chaos and glossy presentations that said nothing, there had to be a better path.

How We Got Here

Our founder, Isla Pemberton, spent fifteen years working with investment firms across Melbourne and Sydney. She kept seeing the same problem – investors receiving reports they couldn't understand, or worse, reports that obscured what actually mattered.

After one particularly frustrating quarterly review where a client missed a critical detail buried in page seventeen, Isla decided enough was enough. She called Rhys Gallagher, a financial analyst she'd worked with for years, and they sketched out what would become arivylent on a coffee-stained napkin.

That napkin's still on our wall, actually. Reminds us why we're here when things get complicated.

What Guides Our Work

These aren't aspirational statements we put on posters. They're the principles we return to when making decisions about how we build reports and serve clients.

1

Clarity First

We believe every investor should understand their position without needing a translation guide. If something can't be explained clearly, we haven't done our job properly.

2

Real Context

Numbers without context are just numbers. We show you what matters and why it matters, so you can make informed decisions rather than guesses.

3

Honest Communication

Good news and bad news both deserve straight talk. We present what the data shows, not what anyone wishes it showed.

The People Behind arivylent

Our team combines decades of financial analysis experience with a shared frustration about how poorly most reporting serves actual humans.

Isla spent most of her career watching good investors make poor decisions because their reports were incomprehensible. She built arivylent to fix that specific problem, and it's still what gets her up in the morning.

Rhys brings technical precision to financial analysis without losing sight of the human on the other end. His background in data visualization means our reports actually look the way they should.

Our Process

Financial data analysis process
Report preparation and review

We work with investment portfolios across Australia, handling everything from quarterly performance reports to complex portfolio analysis. Our clients range from individual investors managing their retirement funds to family offices tracking multiple asset classes.

Each report goes through three reviews before it reaches you. First for accuracy, second for clarity, third for context. We test every visualization with someone who isn't a financial analyst to make sure it actually communicates what we intend.

The result is reporting that helps you understand where you stand and what might come next, without requiring a degree in finance to decipher it. That's been the goal since that coffee-stained napkin, and it's what we're still working on today.
